
The Rev. Dr. Ron M. Buck began his ministry with Lindenwood Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in late July 2009. From 2004 through early summer 2009 he served as Senior Minister at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Prior to that, he spent several years in the Tennessee Region, serving congregations in Halls and Rockwood, and teaching history at Dyersburg State Community College and Roane State Community College.
He earned his M.A. in New Testament at Harding University Graduate School of Religion, a Master of Divinity at Memphis Theological Seminary, Masters and Doctoral studies in History at Memphis State University, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Lexington Theological Seminary in Lexington, Kentucky. He has served as adjunct faculty at Hopkinsville Community College, where he was the visiting Professor of Religious Studies during the 2008-2009 academic year. He has also served as an adjunct Professor of Disciples of Christ History and Polity at Memphis Theological Seminary.
Ron’s wife, Dr. Catherine Buck, works as a Title I Facilitator in the Shelby County School District, and was recently served adjunct Professor of Elementary Education in the Graduate School at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee. They have two daughters, Sarah Hackler and Leigh Buck.
Dr. Buck is currently reading The Ministry Playbook: Strategic Planning for Effective Churches by Henry Klopp, and one of his favorite new study resources is Feasting on the Word, a lectionary resource edited by David Bartlett and Barbara Brown Taylor, published by Westminster John Knox Press. On deck is Brian McLaren, Everything Must Change: Jesus, Global Crises, and a Revolution of Hope, published in 2007 by Thomas Nelson Publishers, which is available in Lindenbooks.
